Yuan Pan
Associate Professor Pan received his MFA in Digital Art in 2002 from
Memphis College of Art. Before coming to the United States. in 2000,
he taught drawing and design courses at Yunnan Polytechnic University
for five years. Since he received his BFA in Chinese Painting in 1995,
his artistic practice has gradually transformed from traditional to
digital formats. After studies at Auckland University in New Zealand,
Parsons School of Design in New York, he received an MFA in Graphic
Design from Memphis College of Art in Tennessee, in 2002. Since then
he has concentrated in the areas of Video, Multimedia, and Web Design.
Professor Pan’s creative work is strongly influenced by his
Chinese-painting and Calligraphy background, as well as the modern
western art and design. He makes use of both traditional and digital
media in his art and design works. While focusing on the process of
visual achievements and aesthetic value, he uses art as a tool to
reflect his thoughts and attitudes about life, and his understanding
of western and eastern philosophies. Since arriving at Keene State
College, Professor Pan has developed several courses in digital media
area, such as: Intro to Web Design, Advanced Web Design, and Interactive
Multimedia Design. His next goal is to develop 3D Animation courses
in the program. |
