The Fred Fosher Excellence in Writing Award The Academic Excellence Conference

In addition to encouraging our students to spend a semester or year on national or international exchange, each year the International and National Exchange Office brings students from other colleges and universities to Keene State College. The English department and American Studies program welcome the following exchange students for fall 2006: Priscilla Gardea , born and raised in El Paso, Texas, is visiting from Adams State College (ASC) in Alamosa, Colorado, where she will graduate with honors in December. Her major is English with minors in Women's Studies and History. At ASC Priscilla has served as a Student Ambassador and as Chief Justice of the Student Body Government. In addition to her fall classes as Keene State College, she involved with the Student Activities Council, the French Club, and the Admissions Office (as a tour guide). Priscilla’s post-graduation plans including traveling and applying to a Ph.D. program in Student Affairs in Higher Education. Pauline Blanco Diaz is visiting from the University of Rennes, France, where she is majoring in American Studies. During her fall semester at Keene State College Pauline will be involved in the French Club as well as the Spanish Club as she is fluent in both languages. After graduation Pauline is planning to study French as a second language and then to teach French and travel to other countries. Helen Bateman is from Wolverhampton University, in the Midlands of England, where she will graduate in December with a joint degree in American Studies and Politics. Emma Georgina Baggott is on exchange from Wolverhampton University in England where she is studying American Studies and sociology. She has completed her first level In British Sign Language and enjoys youth work. Cindy Guillevic is an exchange student from Rennes University, France who will be at Keene State College for the 2006-07 academic year. She is majoring in American studies and minoring in English and Spanish. In addition to her classes, Cindy will be working with the French department to help the American students with their conversational French.
