Welcome to the Sociology and Anthropology website of Keene State College!

Sociology and Anthropology are academic disciplines within the social sciences.  Our faculty and students teach, study, and research various aspects of culture and society, such as: crime, families, class and ethnicity, the environment, politics, culture, etc.  We offer a major and a minor in sociology, as well as a minor in anthropology.  Students who get their degrees in sociology or anthropology typically go on to work in fields such as: human services, teaching, scientific research, marketing, criminal justice, data collection and analysis, etc.  With a large number of full-time and adjunct faculty members with Ph.D.s, the sociology and anthropology department at Keene State provides students with an engaging, cutting-edge course of study in which students are challenged to learn the latest issues, think critically, conduct their own research and write reports, attend conferences, and acquire other useful skills associated with a liberal arts education.  Please use this website to investigate our department, to learn about our faculty and our major and minor programs.  For specific questions that you don't find an answer to here, please feel free to contact our chairperson, Dr. Therese Seibert.
