The Theatre and Dance Department offers you a wide range of creative possibilities including working on original work, performing in musical theatre, designing productions, performing and choreographing dance, and even more. There are no limits where your talent can take you.

We have a caring, dedicated faculty committed to your success that will help you navigate the specific demands of our curriculum. What makes our program unique is the way in which you are included as an integral part of our department's ongoing creative scholarship and activities. You will benefit from this life-changing experience.

In addition to opportunities to perform, design, choreograph and work backstage in faculty-directed productions, you will have many opportunities to present your own individual work. Our department is an active member of two important national organizations that foster student excellence, The Kennedy Center American College Festival and The American College Dance Association. On campus, the Academic Excellence Conference is another great event where student achievement is celebrated. The Theatre and Dance Faculty will mentor you as you create work that exemplifies what it means to do scholarly creative research, cross the boundaries of academic disciplines, and make connections while expressing your unique point of view.
You will also have the chance to participate in a wide range of master classes offered by talented artists of diverse backgrounds.  The level of expertise of each guest artist and the accessibility of the workshops will enrich your learning experience.

The department of Theatre and Dance offers a four-year talent scholarship for an incoming freshman. This scholarship is only based on talent and is awarded through audition, video screening and/or portfolio presentation. It contributes $3000 each year toward the recipient’s college tuition, and is renewable for a total of four. I encourage you to apply and I look forward to engaging with you in person during our talent scholarship. You can apply online at http://academics.keene.edu/tad/scholarship.html.
