Ron Spangler

Ron Spangler has served as Chair of the Theatre and Dance department and Co-Chair of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for New England.  He has also taught at Kent State University in Ohio, and at California State University in Northridge.  With training from Wittenberg University, Kent State College, the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and the Drama Centre in London, Ron primarily teaches acting, directing, and voice and diction at Keene.  In a place long ago and far away Ron started out wanting to be an actor, and he still does act when he gets the chance - here on campus, where his last role was Pozzo in Waiting for Godot, and most recently for Peggy Rae Johnson in Sylvia, and also for Bob Lawson at Franklin Pierce College.  Ron is still a hoofer at heart and loves musical theatre (he has directed Fiddler on the Roof, Little Shop of Horrors, A Day in Hollywood and Night in the Ukraine and most recently Urinetown for KSC), his directing efforts as of late such as Angels in America, The Bacchae and The Two Gentlemen of Verona have moved him into territories he would never have imagined when he was an undergrad (lo, those many years ago!).
