I have over 20 years of professional media experience, and have won local, state and national awards as a mass communicator and educator.

I earned my M.S. in Journalism and Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Ohio University. My B.A. in Speech/Communications with a minor in Journalism is from Edinboro University of PA.

Before accepting my position at Keene State College, I worked as a television reporter, producer and news anchor in Pennsylvania, as a director of public relations for a hospital in New Mexico, as a freelance magazine and Internet writer, and operated my own public relations and advertising company.

I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, spending most of my youth in a steel town near Pittsburgh and the early part of my adult life in Erie. Then, after moving to New Mexico for three years, I came back east to a town on the Ohio River in West Virginia for about a decade. I've been in New England for about ten years now, and recently married an amazing and very patient woman, Judy, who's also in academia. Together we have five children, Frank, Pat, Nina, Will and Nick.

When I'm not at Keene State you might find me flying my hang glider, riding horses, in the kitchen cooking, or playing lead guitar in my classic rock band Observant Ego.
